Pendine Sands is less than 15 minutes away, with its seven miles of sandy beach and lovely views over Carmarthen Bay and across to Gower and Tenby. Further along the coast, you will find the coastal towns of Amroth, Saundersfoot and Tenby, which are all fantastic places to visit. Gwalia

Gwalia is a detached converted stone barn with outstanding coastal and estuary views directly opposite the historic castle at Laugharne, Carmarthenshire. Dylan Thomas's boathouse is also a stones throw away. It is one of two barns at Pentowyn, in a beautiful rural setting on the Taf estuary in Carmarthenshire. Originally a priory farm, Pentowyn now consists of the owner's farmhouse, the holiday barns and 5 acres of grazing land. The Wales Coast Path passes behind the farm and there are many walks from the doorstep - including one to the saltmarsh with its abundance of wildlife. Gwalia is just a 5-minute drive to the long sandy beach at Llansteffan. The village has a shop, beach cafe, ice cream cabin, Florries Fish and Chips and two family-friendly pubs offering tasty meals. There is a tennis court, multi-use games court, playing field and two play areas for children. Llansteffan Castle commands impressive views up the River Towy and towards Carmarthen Bay and just beyond it you will find the delightful Scott's Bay. Gwalia is the perfect base for various activities, including walking, tennis, bird watching, sea fishing, cycling and golf. The National Botanical Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens and several castles are a short drive away.
