Minehead, Somerset
SashesIt is assured that Sashes, a deceptively spacious Grade II fisherman’s cottage gloriously located in Minehead on the North Somerset coastline, won’t fail to delight its guests for so many reasons. Set opposite the waterside with only a tree lined avenue and the South West Coastal Path separating it from the waters edge, guests will undoubtedly be enchanted by the sea views enjoyed from many of its rooms and terraced garden. The most difficult decision that needs to be made is whether to turn left or right out of the front door and head along the town’s mile long level esplanade following the beautiful sandy coastline. The cottage itself is full of charm, space and character. It has been tastefully furnished and decorated with a comfortable lounge, lovely kitchen diner which offers all modern amenities and the piece de resistance is the superb master bedroom with a seating area from which to watch the boats coming in and out of the harbour just a few minutes away. Its terraced rear garden boasts a sunny aspect and pretty views over the Bristol Channel and the coast of Wales. Minehead itself is a bustling seaside resort with plenty of inns and restaurants to satisfy both hunger and thirst, but these excesses can be exercised away by taking a walk along the wonderful beaches or over the beautiful heather clad Exmoor National Park. Lose yourself for a day in the nearby historic village of Dunster, overlooked by its brooding castle, or hitch a nostalgic ride on the West Somerset Steam Railway.
