Aberporth features two magnificent sandy beaches, Dolwen and Dyffryn- Dyffryn beach is dog friendly all year round. Croeso is close to the Ceredigion Coast Path, which offers spectacular scenery. Walk from Aberporth to Tresaith and look out for Cardigan Bay’s famous bottlenose dolphins before you reach the pub, where you can enjoy a delicious meal and a well-earned rest. Head to the coastal town of New Quay, where you can try your hand at watersports or get up close to the wonderful sea life on a boat trip from the harbour. The nearby beaches at Penbryn, Mwnt and Poppit Sands offer great days for all ages. Further afield are other interesting places worth visiting, including Cardigan, Tenby, Aberystwyth and the Preseli Hills. This really is a great base to explore Aberporth and its surrounding areas. One beach is dog-friendly all year round. Dolphins are frequent visitors to the bay during warmer months, so summer evenings can be spent on the patio watching their performance. The village has all the amenities you will need. There are takeaways and restaurants, a pub, and cafés as well as a local shop and pharmacy. If you can manage to drag yourself away from Clifftop Haven, you might like to explore the Ceredigion Coast Path which runs from behind the house. There is an easy access path leading most of the way to Tresaith village and beach and further north you will find the beautiful National Trust beach at Penbryn and the village of Llangrannog. The seaside village of New Quay is a short drive away. Mwnt with its lovely beach and traditional Welsh church are nearby. The market town of Cardigan is just 7 miles away where you will find supermarkets, a theatre/cinema, independent shops, galleries, cafés, and restaurants. There is plenty to explore further afield such as the Preseli Hills to the south and the Cambrian Mountains to the north.
